A LARGE & DECORATIVE PAIR OF TOLE IVY LEAF GERANIUM SCONCES, ITALIAN 1940s

A large & decorative pair of antique hand painted Italian  Tole double branch wall sconces designed as naturalistic stems of intertwined ivy leaves and flowering geraniums, the candle holders of scallop form.

This type of botanical lighting became very popular and was used extensively by legendary American decorator Dorothy Draper.

Italian 1930s/40s – great condition but with paint losses and areas of rusting – mainly to the candle holders – does not detract in our opinion – spectacular on the wall!
