A PAIR OF FRENCH TOLE ‘RIBBON BOW’ SCONCES BY CHAUMETTE, PARIS, 1950s
£425.00
A pair of French tole ‘Ribbon Bow’ sconces by Chaumette, Paris, 1950s – naturalistically designed as generous ribboned bows with scalloped flower form backplate and integral hook for ease of hanging, the yellow paint ‘stippled’ and ‘spattered’ adding depth. Original bulb holders present and original paper swing tag for Chaumette Paris present. In overall very good condition commensurate with age with only minor signs of wear and paint loss – not detracting in our opinion. Lovely examples and scarce in this sought after design and by a quality maker. Maison Chaumette was an iconic design house producing and commissioning pieces of the highest quality including designing interior pieces for the House of Chanel in the 80s.
