A PAIR OF TOLEWARE ‘ESPALIER SICILIAN PEAR TREE’ SCONCES, 1940s

An elegant pair of Toleware ‘Espalier Sicilian Pear Tree’ Sconces, Italian, 1940s, naturalistically designed as trained fruit trees, the leafy branches with painted plaster pears, ‘planted’ in scalloped gadrooned vases, the candle holders also of pretty scalloped form, hand painted details throughout – overall condition is very good with a few signs of wear commensurate with age – the bases hand painted in red ‘Italy’.  A great size – rare in this design and condition.  Stunning on the wall!  Can be wired and PAT tested.  Please enquire.  Depth 16cms.
