A LARGE PAIR OF ITALIAN PAINTED TOLE ‘PERE MANTOVANE’ SCONCES, 1940s
A scarce pair of larger sized hand painted tole ‘Pere Mantovane’ or ‘Mantuan Pear’ sconces, 1940s, Italian – naturalistically designed as leafy fruiting branches emanating from scalloped gadrooned vases, the double candle holders of pretty scalloped form, the yellow pears with variegated paintwork – overall condition is very good & commensurate with age, showing some signs of wear with a few areas of paintwork chipped but in our opinion does not detract! Hard to find in this design and size – stunning on the wall! Can be wired and PAT tested. Please enquire.
