Description
A monumental & scarce Italian gilt tole ‘Flowery’ five branch wall sconce, 1960s – of asymmetric form and naturalistically designed with a profusion of serpentine leafy flowering stems, five of which topped with hand blown Murano glass ‘tulip’ form bulb holders in full bloom, designed to emit a lovely diffused atmospheric light with a circular scalloped wall plate. In very good overall condition commensurate with age with only minor signs of wear – nothing detracting in our opinion. The foliage well patinated and giving a two tone effect adding depth with darker browns and lighter gilt highlights. So unusual in this design, size and condition. An elegant statement piece and stunning on the wall! Please note this item is wired but will need to be PAT tested and checked by a qualified electrician. Depth 17cms.
