A PAIR OF PAINTED TOLE PINEAPPLE SCONCES, ITALIAN 1950s

Description

A pair of painted tole ‘Pineapple’ sconces, Italian, 1950s – naturalistically designed as life sized fruits sprouting leafy fronds, each with four branches terminating in decorative scallop edged bulb holders. Well modelled and hand painted throughout in green and gilt, painted ‘Italy’ verso with integral hooks for ease of hanging. Unusual find in this design and condition – stunning on the wall!
