A rare 1950s Maison Bagues botanical painted and gilt metal ‘Fern Basket’ chandelier – naturalistically designed with great style and exuberance, the curling fronds full of movement emerging from an intricately woven gilt metal basket suspended by a painted metal ‘rope’ trimmed at the base with a hanging metal tassel, up lit from within by four hidden bulbs designed to emit an atmospheric light. Original ceiling rose present. In overall good condition commensurate with age, the fern fronds well patinated throughout. An elegant botanical chandelier in a much sought after and scarce design – stunning installed!
