A rare near pair of 1950s Maison Bagues botanical painted and gilt metal ‘Fern Basket’ chandeliers – naturalistically designed with great style and exuberance, the curling fronds full of movement emerging from intricately woven gilt metal baskets suspended by painted metal ‘ropes’ trimmed at the base with hanging metal tassels, each up lit from within by four hidden bulbs designed to emit an atmospheric light. Original ceiling roses present. In overall good condition commensurate with age, the fern fronds well patinated throughout with some paint losses. Elegant botanical chandeliers in a much sought after and scarce design – stunning installed! Can be sold individually.
