AN ORIGINAL ITALIAN ILLUMINATED HOTEL SIGN, 1950s

An original Italian illuminated Hotel sign, 1950s/early 60s, the bold cursive script spelt out in Savoy Blue, of lightweight, easy to mount plastic, now re-neoned and PAT tested ready to install.

This sign, along with another, were removed from an iconic hotel in Taormina during its renovation and dates to an era when this little town on the island of Sicily was amongst the most glamorous holiday spots in the world.  Regular visitors included just about everyone who was anyone – from Audrey Hepburn to Winston Churchill (a great fan of the local almond wine) drawn to the beauty of the sea and to its iconic international film festival ‘Il David di Donatello’ Italy’s Oscars, held there every Summer.  The very epitome of Italy’s Dolce Vita!
